A marquee farm wedding is one of my personal top settings for a Dorset wedding- and a Hayhouse Farm wedding is pretty perfect. There’s the wedding barn, the woodland ceremony, the marquee… and of course all the hay bales, bunting and fire pits you could ask for from a farm wedding.
Below is a real wedding story of a Hayhouse farm wedding – it’s Chris & Hannah’s big day.

I was starting to be a little concerned about the Hayhouse Farm wedding – after all the rain of late, I was starting to wonder how well a wedding in a wood would turn out… But Saturday came and along with it came the lovely warm summer sunshine. Perfect!
A visit to the girls in the morning getting ready at the fabulous Clock House B&B in Marnhull and then I headed off to Hayhouse farm in the middle of nowhere (well, nearish to Gillingham actually, but it might just have well been!).
In a beautiful setting, Hannah and Chris had their ceremony in the middle of the lovely wood, dappled with sunlight. A quick pop into the barn to sign the legal stuff on the way back, and then it was time to head out into the meadow to be welcomed by their guests under a hail of confetti.
Pimms in the sunshine, hay bales aplenty to rest weary legs, a fabulous bar in the side of a van from the Way Outback brewing Company and we were all set for a lovely day.
Eventually time to head into the marquee for pre-dinner speeches and then my time to say goodbye for today.
Congratulations Hannah & Chris, I’m so glad the sun shone for you!
