On Friday the 7th September I set off on a gloriously sunny Autumn day to Durlston Castle on on the fab Dorset Coast for the wedding of Lorna and David. A quick stop on the way to an address just outside Swanage called the Cheesehouse to catch up with the girls and the usual morning preparations and then on to Durlston to find David and the boys.
I haven’t been to Durlston for a long time, mainly due to the fact its been closed as it needed much restoration. But now its fully restored and opened again to the public and I have to say what a fantastic job they have done too.
The wedding itself took place in the conservatory room on the very roof top of Durlston, so not only did we have a very lovely ceremony we were also treated to a most magnificent 360 degree panorama…fantastic.
Time to head downwards now, to another stunning location at the rear of the castle for the reception. Glorious views accross the water to the Isle of Wight and beyond, blue skies, blue seas, warm sunshine, fabulous decorations to match and lovely company enjoying the surroundings.
A little time to slip away for Lorna and David for some pictures before heading back for the official speeches, cutting of the wedding cake and then the wedding BBQ… oh yes :-)
Evening drawing in and the sun burning orange low in the sky, Lorna, David and I made one more little trip…down to the pier in Swanage and Im so glad we did, absloutely stunning in the late Autumnal sunshine.
Returning to Durlston Castle, its finally time for Lorna and David to hit the dance floor for their first official smooch as husband and wife.
A fabulous day indeed…thank you Lorna and David for so much fun, I had a blast :-)
Here are just a few of my favourite images from Lorna and David’s Dorset wedding…don’t forget to check out the blog again tomorrow for pictures of their really fabulous details…enjoy :-)
