What a difference a few days makes!
Just the other day the sun was shining and it was hot, hot, hot.
Come Ellie and Rupert’s big day and the clouds have rolled in and some strange watery stuff is falling from the sky … could this be rain!
Most people given the summer that we have been having, would be pretty mad to have gone through all that hot, only to get to their big day and find out they had the first rain for many a month. However for Ellie and Rupert this was a day of mixed blessings. A little sad on the one hand to have a damp wedding, but on the other hand as farmers, really pleased and excited to see the rain! The grass will grow, and the aninmals will eat tonight!
Did the rain actually spoil the day, or dampen the spirits? Of course not much fun was had by all. We did actually manage to get out a little bit later in the day for a wander as it did finally dry up for a while, but besides that there was good food, wine and company, and a riotous Ceilidh in the evening which all went to make Ellie and Rupert’s day one to remember forever.
Congratulations Ellie and Rupert, I hope you find a little more sun on your honeymoon at least!
A few from the day to enjoy …
