Dorset Wedding Photographers Bride Top Tips 2013 – Abi & Sam

Welcome today to the blog Abi and Sam :-)

Abi and Sam got married in May at the fab Somerset wedding venue the Long House Mill on the Brue, a new venue for me but great if you are considering a Somerset wedding.

Let me pass you over to Abi and Sam to share with you their hints and tips ……

Hi Courtenay,

Surprise surprise, we have two favourites!!

The first one is this one …..

Bride and Groom take a romantic moment at the Long House Mill on the Brue Somerset
Bride and Groom take a romantic moment at the Long House Mill on the Brue Somerset

It’s a beautiful, romantic picture of us under a willow tree in black and white. Very classic without the harshness of a posed picture. You’ve captured the relaxed way we are around each other perfectly, with Sams hand on my waist and me loosely holding my bouquet as we gaze at each other… I could look at this picture all day long and never tire of it.

The second one is this …

Wedding speeches at The Long House Mill on the Brue Somerset

My dad’s speech. We love the composition (if that’s the right word?) of this photograph, as well as the lovely memories it brings back whenever we look at it. I love how low we are in the picture with all of the flowers and drinks on the table in contrast to the height and starkness of the cupboards behind us. It’s a picture that really stands out, and reminds us of how amazing my dad’s speech was and all of the kind things he said about us.

My top three tips for a bride planning her wedding would be

1- Have a book that is for wedding stuff only! Keep all of your ideas, contact numbers for florists etc in this book, and make lists starting with the big stuff- Venue, wedding car, food, photographer etc. When you’ve got things booked and sorted tick them off as this is the best way of keeping on top of everything and seeing what is left to do. Confirm everything at least a month before the wedding.

2- Don’t shop around TOO much for things. Sure you can compare prices and deals, but don’t give yourself too many options as you can get a bit lost along the way and end up more confused than ever. If you see something you really like, get it.

3- Remember that this is YOUR day. Don’t let friends and family take over with their ideas on who should be there, what food you should have etc. Discuss with your fiance what kind of wedding you want, your budget and the things that are most important to you both, and you should have a beautiful day full of wonderful memories.

Love

Abi and Sam

Thank you, both of you…two pictures! I didn’t expect anything less ;-)
